The Philippine National Police (PNP) has begun serving warrants of arrest against Charlie “Atong” Ang and several other individuals in connection with the high-profile kidnapping with homicide cases linked to the disappearance of a number of sabungeros.

According to PNP Chief PLt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., law enforcement teams are already mobilized to enforce the court orders.

“On their way to implement warrant of arrest,” Nartatez said, confirming that police units are actively pursuing the accused.

Based on the arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 26 in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Ang and his co-accused are facing multiple criminal charges for kidnapping with homicide, a crime classified as non-bailable under Philippine law.

The warrant, dated January 13, 2026, lists more than a dozen accused individuals and directs police officers to immediately take them into custody and bring them before the court. The document also specifies several known addresses linked to the suspects across Metro Manila, Laguna, Batangas, and nearby provinces.

The court order further instructs arresting officers to use body-worn cameras during the operation, in line with Supreme Court rules on transparency in the execution of warrants.

The case stems from the long-running and controversial investigation into the missing sabungeros, which has drawn nationwide attention and sparked calls for accountability and justice from the victims’ families.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact locations or timing of the arrests, citing operational security. However, the PNP assured the public that efforts are underway to ensure the swift and lawful implementation of the warrants.

Photos circulating online show copies of the official arrest warrant signed by Presiding Judge Mary Jean T. Cajandab-ong, confirming the court’s directive.
