Businessman and e-sabong operator Atong Ang has filed a counter-affidavit in response to the multiple charges filed against him over the disappearance of several “sabungeros” or cockfighting enthusiasts.

According to his legal counsel, Atty. Gabriel Villareal, Ang is not simply asking for the cases to be dismissed. Instead, he wants the matter to be returned to the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) for a proper and impartial investigation.

Villareal explained.

The charges against Ang include kidnapping with serious illegal detention and multiple murder, linked to the disappearance of 34 sabungeros in seven separate incidents between 2021 and 2022. Families of the missing individuals continue to await justice as the DOJ and law enforcement agencies handle the ongoing investigation.
