BCDA Teams Up With Korean Firms To Boost New Clark City, Upgrade Poro Point Airport

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is taking big strides to level up two of its key projects—New Clark City in Tarlac and Poro Point in La Union—with a little help from South Korea.
Two Korean companies—Moon Engineering Co. Ltd. and Jin Systems Co. Ltd.—have expressed interest in teaming up with BCDA to push forward high-impact developments in these areas.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang, along with SVP Mark Torres, recently sat down with representatives from Moon Engineering to talk about a possible feasibility study for upgrading San Fernando Airport. If all goes well, this sleepy airport, which currently handles mostly chartered flights and flying school operations, could soon be ready for more commercial action. That means more connectivity for Northern Luzon and more opportunities for La Union and nearby provinces.
“We’re really excited about the potential of working with South Korean firms—they’re known globally for their innovations in infrastructure and smart city planning,” Bingcang shared. “These kinds of partnerships could be game-changers for New Clark City and Poro Point.”
And speaking of game-changers—enter Jin Systems. They're eyeing New Clark City for their smart mobility project under the 2025 K-City Network Smart Solution Demonstration.
