Bella Belen Brings Firepower In PVL Debut, Vows To Level Up

Bella Belen’s much-awaited Premier Volleyball League debut was nothing short of electric. The top pick of the 2025 Draft wasted no time proving why she was the most talked-about rookie, stuffing the stat sheet with 20 points, 18 excellent digs, and 12 solid receptions for Capital1 Solar Spikers.
But despite her stellar all-around game, Capital1 fell just short against powerhouse Choco Mucho, bowing in straight but nail-biting sets, 33-31, 26-24, 25-23, at the Ynares Center.
“Of course, I’m very happy na finally nakapaglaro na ako,” the 23-year-old outside hitter said. “Pero siyempre, nakakalungkot din kasi hindi kami nanalo. Sayang, feeling ko kaya pa sana ma-push yung game, pero kinapos kami.”
Stats Don’t Define Her
Belen downplayed her debut numbers, saying she’s more focused on consistency and team contribution than the scoreboard.
“Hindi ko naman masyado iniisip yung stats,” she admitted. “Ang importante lang sa akin is ma-perform ng maayos and makapag-contribute pa sa team.”
Shaking Off the Jitters
First-game nerves? Sure. But Belen made it clear she’s only scratching the surface of what she can do.
“Feeling ko, mas kaya ko pa itaas yung laro ko. Okay na rin siguro since first game, may jitters. Pero mas gagandahan ko pa in the next games,” she promised.
A New Level, A New Mindset
Transitioning from UAAP to the PVL, Belen knows she has to bring a tougher mentality.
“Ibang level na talaga dito. Lahat gustong manalo, lahat palaban. Kailangan ko lang ng patience sa sarili at sa team,” she said.
She also shared how she’s leaving her past fears behind.
“Noong nasa NU ako, minsan may takot sa laro ko. Pero ngayon, wala na. Naiwan ko na siya sa UAAP. This time, kailangan laging palaban.”
Despite the loss, one thing’s clear: Bella Belen’s debut showed flashes of greatness — and if her words are any indication, the best is yet to come.
