There’s nothing quite like the excitement of a fresh school year — new notebooks, sharpened pencils, and big dreams. And for over 200 students at Sapang Uwak Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga, this year is off to an extra special start, thanks to a heartfelt partnership between Vantage Energy, Mekeni Food Corporation, and One Meralco Foundation (OMF).
Coming together with a shared mission to empower communities, the three organizations recently hosted a Back-to-School Donation Drive, bringing in not just essential school supplies and books, but also digital goodies like audio-visual and printing equipment to help both students and teachers level up their learning experience.
And because learning is a lot easier on a full stomach, Mekeni even rolled out a feeding program during the event, making sure the kids were energized and ready to take on the school year.
“Mekeni has always been an advocate of education among our youth,” shared Marilou Uy, Mekeni’s Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Exports. “Joining this drive with Vantage Energy and OMF reflects our mission to uplift families and bring hope to the communities we serve.”
This isn’t the first time Vantage Energy, OMF, and Mekeni have teamed up for a good cause. Last year, they worked hand-in-hand to support 500 students at Villa Maria Integrated School, also in Porac. And they’re just getting started.
“This donation drive highlights the power of collaboration in transforming lives,” said Vantage Energy President Ernesto Cabral. “True success goes beyond financial gains — it’s about building values-driven partnerships that create real, lasting impact.”
For Vantage Energy, this annual initiative is more than just a one-time event. It’s part of a bigger commitment to make education more accessible and meaningful for children across the country.
With every pencil, book, and smile they bring, these partners are lighting the path toward a brighter future — one student at a time.
