The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is cooperating with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) by submitting documents tied to the Commission’s ongoing investigation into alleged anomalies in flood-control projects, including the case involving the Discaya family.

The submission, made during a meeting requested by Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, underscores the Bureau’s proactive effort to ensure transparency and accountability in its enforcement and administrative operations. The documents provided included enforcement reports, copies of Search Warrants and Warrants of Seizure and Detention (WSD), lists of importation documents, and progress reports related to the investigations.

"The BOC fully supports the Commission’s efforts to establish the facts in all pending inquiries. This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to transparency and cooperation with oversight bodies," said Commissioner Nepomuceno.

He also directed all concerned offices within the Bureau to fully cooperate with the ICI and other investigative bodies to ensure a fair, thorough, and evidence-based review process.

"Under the guidance of President Marcos Jr., the Bureau continues to uphold integrity and good governance through strengthened inter-agency coordination efforts that promote transparency and public trust," the Commissioner added.

The BOC reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and cooperation with government efforts that strengthen institutional integrity and ensure proper procedures are consistently observed.

Meanwhile, the Discaya couple, Sarah and Curlee, appeared before the ICI on October 7. They requested to reset their hearing to October 15 to retrieve certain documents, ICI executive director Brian Hosaka said, though he did not disclose which documents were being requested.
