Senator Bong Go has reaffirmed his commitment to the minority bloc in the Senate, stressing that loyalty to principles and service to the Filipino people remain his priority over political maneuvering.

“As a member of the Duterte bloc, we in PDP stand firm with the minority. Kilala niyo ako, mula noon hanggang ngayon, hinding hindi ko ugaling mang-iwan. Trabaho at serbisyo ang focus ko, hindi pulitika,” Go said in a statement.

The senator clarified that while he showed respect and willingness to work with newly elected Senate President Tito Sotto and members of the majority, it did not mean he sought to join them. According to Go, his gesture was simply to avoid unnecessary political conflict.

He also addressed the issue of committee assignments, particularly the Health Committee which he chaired for six years since 2019. The chairmanship has now been given to Senator Risa Hontiveros. Go admitted feeling sad about the change but said he respects the decision.

“Kalusugan ang pangunahing adbokasiya ko. Kahit wala na ako sa committee, patuloy nating isusulong ang maayos at malapit na serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa ating mga kababayan,” he said.

Go emphasized that the Senate remains a collegial body where differing opinions should be respected, reflecting the essence of democracy. He added that regardless of political shifts, his principles and lessons from former president Rodrigo Duterte will continue to guide him.

“Patuloy akong magseserbisyo sa inyo sa abot ng aking makakaya at umaasa ako na sana ay magkaisa na tayo para sa ikabubuti ng bansa,” Go ended.
