Capital1 Sweep Choco Mucho; Prove They're For Real

Capital1 finally got the rematch they’d been waiting for—and they made sure it was worth the wait.
The Solar Spikers came out blazing Tuesday night, sweeping Choco Mucho, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the PVL Reinforced Conference.
The win not only erased memories of their earlier loss to the Flying Titans but also cemented Capital1’s growing reputation as a serious contender this season. Now at 3-2, they’ve secured the No. 3 spot in Pool A and will advance to the next phase alongside PLDT and Farm Fresh.
Rookie sensation Bella Belen once again delivered in style, scoring 11 points and keeping the Solar Spikers steady during the tense second set. Chel Austero added 8 markers, while Leila Cruz and Pia Abbu chipped in six apiece.
Despite two scary moments—Belen’s awkward fall and Austero’s ankle sprain—Capital1 didn’t lose steam. Instead, import Sasha Bytsenko took charge, finishing with 17 points, including the clever drop shot that sealed the sweep.
“I’m so proud of my team—they grow every game,” Bytsenko said. “What you see on the court is what we build every day in practice—energy and teamwork.”
Choco Mucho, meanwhile, dropped to 2-3, with Marlee Smith leading the charge with 12 points. But the Flying Titans simply couldn’t match Capital1’s composure and power when it mattered most.
With back-to-back wins over Cignal and Choco Mucho, Capital1’s message is clear: they’re no longer the underdogs—they’re here to compete with the best.
