A major drug bust in Bacoor City, Cavite, led to the seizure of more than ₱217 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of a Chinese national suspected of large-scale drug distribution.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez confirmed the arrest of a 35-year-old male suspect, known only as “Li,” a Mandaluyong City resident. The operation took place in the early hours of March 21, 2025, at around 6:14 AM.
Authorities from the PDEA Special Enforcement Service, PDEA Regional Office IV-A, Cavite Provincial Office, PNP Maritime Police Station, and Bacoor City Police Station caught “Li” red-handed in a fast-food parking lot along Bacoor Boulevard. He allegedly sold a kilo of suspected shabu worth ₱6.8 million to an undercover operative.
But that was just the tip of the iceberg. A deeper search led to the discovery of 31 more kilos of shabu, amounting to a staggering ₱210.8 million. Officers also seized 35 pieces of red-colored ecstasy tablets worth ₱42,000, a Honda City, and other personal belongings.
According to Undersecretary Nerez, the total haul from the operation weighed around 32 kilos, with an estimated street value of ₱217.6 million.
“Li” is now facing serious charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for drug sale and possession.
PDEA had been keeping a close eye on him under an operation codenamed COPLAN: ‘Mafioso’, suspecting him of being a key player in drug distribution. “He’s been on our radar for a while now. We knew he was moving large quantities, and now he’s finally behind bars,” Nerez stated.
With this latest crackdown, authorities are sending a strong message: there’s no room for drug syndicates to operate freely in the country.
