Cezarah Discaya, president of Alpha and Omega, defended her company’s track record as a government contractor during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s hearing on anomalous flood control projects on Monday, September 1.
“We have been in the construction business for 23 years, and we presume that in the 23 years, it is only right that we were able to earn,” Discaya told Senator Tito Sotto during the inquiry.
She also addressed what she described as a misleadingly edited video of her earlier remarks. “They spliced the video that was taken of me and only mentioned the DPWH. We have been contractors for 23 years,” she added.
The committee is investigating alleged irregularities in flood control projects across the country, summoning both government officials and private contractors involved in their implementation.
