Creamline Stays Red-Hot, Sweeps Choco Mucho To Book Finals Date With Petro Gazz

Creamline is on a mission—and they’re making it loud and clear.
The Cool Smashers showed absolutely no signs of slowing down Thursday night as they swept sister team Choco Mucho, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15, in front of a roaring crowd at the Araneta Coliseum. The dominant win not only sent them to the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference finals—it made a statement.
Just an hour and 14 minutes. That’s all it took for Creamline to dismantle the Flying Titans and punch their ticket to yet another finals appearance—their seventh straight, to be exact. Up next: a highly anticipated title clash against the Petro Gazz Angels.
While Creamline looked sharp and composed, Choco Mucho struggled without some of their key players due to injuries. And the Cool Smashers took full advantage with their deep and healthy lineup firing on all cylinders.
“This was do-or-die, but for us it was just ‘do,’” said setter Kyle Negrito, who bagged Best Player of the Game honors with 17 excellent sets and three points of her own. “Every play had a purpose. We followed the game plan and everything just flowed.”
And flow it did—especially offensively. Bernadeth Pons led the Cool Smashers with 14 points, followed closely by Tots Carlos with 13. Alyssa Valdez chipped in 11, and Pangs Panaga added 10. Bea de Leon also stood tall at the net, scoring nine points, including four big kill blocks.
But it wasn’t just about offense. Creamline locked down on defense too, limiting Choco Mucho’s firecracker Sisi Rondina to a career-low seven points—something few teams have ever done. Rondina still managed 8 digs and 15 receptions, but her team couldn’t capitalize.
Isa Molde led Choco Mucho with nine points, but the rest of the squad just couldn’t keep up. The Flying Titans fell behind in nearly every department—attacks (47-25), blocks (10-3), even energy.
Creamline, coming off a gritty four-set loss to Petro Gazz earlier in the semis, bounced back like true champions. They swept both Akari and Choco Mucho to grab the last ticket to the Finals. Meanwhile, Petro Gazz blazed their way into the championship series by sweeping their own semis campaign after surviving a tough battle with ZUS Coffee in the quarters.
The Cool Smashers are now eyeing their 11th PVL championship—and another All-Filipino crown to add to their growing legacy. For Petro Gazz, it’s a historic moment as they make their first-ever trip to the All-Filipino Finals, hoping to finally knock Creamline off their throne.
With powerhouse teams like ZUS Coffee and Galeries Tower also making noise in the playoffs, the league’s competitive landscape is evolving. But for now, all eyes are on Tuesday’s Finals Game One at the Big Dome.
Creamline is back where it belongs. The Angels are out to prove they belong there too. Let the fireworks begin.
