Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno visited the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Iloilo as part of the agency’s 170th founding anniversary, commending the port’s vital role in boosting trade, protecting borders, and driving revenue growth in Western Visayas and beyond.
During his visit, Commissioner Nepomuceno praised the dedication and professionalism of Iloilo Port personnel, saying their hard work has been key to the BOC’s ongoing reform efforts. He expressed his full support for the men and women of the port and encouraged them to continue upholding service, integrity, and accountability in their work.
He also emphasized that the Bureau’s mission goes beyond efficiency and revenue collection — it’s about earning public trust through transparency and respect.
“Excellent public service must go beyond efficiency,” Nepomuceno said. “It must reflect a customer-oriented approach that strengthens confidence in the BOC as a reliable partner in trade and nation-building.”
The Commissioner urged BOC personnel to treat clients and stakeholders with courtesy and professionalism at all times, noting that every transaction is an opportunity to build stronger relationships with the business community and the public.
The visit is part of Commissioner Nepomuceno’s ongoing effort to personally engage with customs offices across the country, reinforcing his commitment to improving service delivery and promoting a culture of excellence within the Bureau.
