Dog In The Trunk? PAWS And LTO Team Up To Seek Justice In Shocking Cruelty Case

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) joined the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on May 13 for a hearing that’s sparked outrage across social media—a dog was caught on video being transported in the trunk of a car.
Invited by the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division, PAWS attended the initial hearing as animal welfare and cruelty case experts to help ensure this disturbing incident doesn’t go unanswered.
But there was a major hiccup: the driver accused of stuffing the poor dog in the trunk didn’t even show up. As a result, a follow-up hearing has been scheduled.
While the LTO is moving forward with an administrative case, PAWS is taking things further—they’re preparing to file a criminal case to make sure full accountability is served.
The LTO has assured PAWS of their continued support in clamping down on animal mistreatment on our roads. And PAWS made it clear:
"PAWS will not stop fighting for justice for animals subjected to cruelty and for the urgent need to strengthen enforcement of animal protection laws."
Let’s hope this leads to stronger action—and a powerful reminder that animals deserve care, not cruelty.
