DOJ Issues Immigration Lookout Order Against Atong Ang, Gretchen Barretto, Estomo, And Over 50 Others In Missing Sabungeros Case

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has released an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, actress Gretchen Barretto, former NCRPO chief Jonnel Estomo, and more than 50 other respondents linked to complaints over the disappearance of several “sabungeros.”

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that all individuals identified by Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, also known as “Totoy,” were placed under the ILBO. The order directs the Bureau of Immigration to closely monitor the movements of these personalities and alert authorities if they attempt to leave the country.

Remulla also revealed that Ang’s brother had already left the Philippines prior to the issuance of the lookout order. He added that once the preliminary investigation begins, the panel of prosecutors may request a Precautionary Hold Departure Order (PHDO) from the court, which would legally restrict the respondents from leaving the country.

Ang, Barretto, and Estomo have all previously denied any involvement in the high-profile case that has drawn public attention and raised serious questions about organized crime and accountability.

The DOJ’s move marks another step in the long-running probe, as families of the missing sabungeros continue to call for justice and answers.
