Filipinos Mourn With The World As Pope Francis Passes Away: 'A Life Of Hope And Compassion'

Today is a profoundly sad day, not just for the Catholic Church, but for the entire world. The Philippines joins millions of faithful across the globe in grieving the loss of His Holiness Pope Francis — a man whose faith, humility, and deep love for the poor touched countless lives.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. paid tribute to the beloved pontiff, calling him a “man of profound faith and humility” who led not just with wisdom, but with a heart that was always open — especially to those most often forgotten.
“By his example,” the President said, “Pope Francis reminded us what it truly means to be a good Christian: to extend kindness, care, and compassion to one another.”
