The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has prolonged the no-fly zone around Taal Volcano, extending a crucial safety measure for air travelers and flight operators.
The updated Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) keeps the vertical flight restriction—from the ground up to 11,000 feet—in place. This restriction is active starting today, October 3, 2025, at 8:10 a.m. and will last until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, October 4, 2025.
CAAP continues to warn pilots to steer clear of the area, as Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, indicating a state of restlessness.
In a separate development, travelers in Northern Luzon are seeing cancellations due to Typhoon Paolo. A total of 16 flights have been grounded, affecting routes connecting Manila with Tuguegarao, Cauayan, and Laoag.
Passengers whose flights have been cancelled are strongly advised to reach out to their airlines immediately for the latest updates and assistance with rebooking.
CAAP assures the public that it is proactively monitoring both the volcanic activity and the typhoon's impact, working closely with airlines and airport officials to maintain the safety and welfare of everyone traveling.
