With deep sorrow, the family of Retired General Eduardo Ramos Ermita announced his passing early Saturday morning, October 18, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he peacefully joined his Creator.

A respected public servant and decorated soldier, Gen. Ermita devoted his life to serving the Filipino people—both in the military and in government. Known for his integrity, discipline, and quiet strength, he stood tall through some of the nation’s most challenging chapters.

To the country, he was a statesman and patriot.

But to his family, he was simply “Papa” or “Lolo Ed”—a loving father and grandfather whose wisdom and kindness guided them through life.

“Our father lived a full life in steadfast service to the Filipino people,” the Ermita family said in a heartfelt statement. “He was our source of wisdom, strength, and unconditional love. The lessons he taught and the values he lived by will forever be his legacy.”

Gen. Ermita also served as a pillar of the First District of Batangas, a community he held dear to his heart. Even after his retirement, he remained deeply involved in its welfare, continuing to lend his voice and guidance to many.

The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers from friends, colleagues, and supporters.

“We take comfort knowing that his life has touched so many others. His legacy will live on through us and all who were inspired by his example,” they said.
