Free MRT-3 Rides Every Wednesday In August For National ID Holders

Starting this August, commuters with a National ID can enjoy free rides on the MRT-3 every Wednesday — a move designed to promote the use of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in both public and private transactions.
The Free Ride Program will be available during two time slots: from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 6, 13, 20, and 27. Passengers simply need to present their physical National ID card, printed paper version, or digital copy to the security personnel at the station’s service gate to access the promo.
This initiative supports President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s call to expand the adoption of the National ID system, with the goal of making transactions more efficient and improving access to public services.
So if you have your National ID ready, make the most of your midweek travels — and don’t forget to spread the word. Safe travels, MRT-3 riders!
