GCash To Suspend In-App Gaming Access In Line With BSP Order

GCash has confirmed that it will comply with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Memorandum No. M-2025-029, which requires all BSP-supervised institutions to suspend in-app gaming access in their mobile payment platforms and websites.
The company said it will implement the directive within the next 48 hours. Access to gaming through GLife will be suspended starting Saturday, August 16, at 8:00 PM. Users may only withdraw funds from their gaming accounts back to their GCash wallets via GLife until that time. After the cut-off, any remaining balances can be accessed only through the gaming merchant’s official website.
GCash expressed its support for stronger safeguards in online gaming and reiterated its commitment to work closely with regulators and industry partners to help protect the financial health of Filipinos. G-Xchange Inc. (GXI), which operates GCash, is regulated by the BSP. Users seeking more information may visit the GCash Help Center, call 2882 for Globe and TM, (02) 7213-9999 for Globe Landline, or use the Internet Call option in the Help Center.
