Gov't Cancels Zaldy Co's Passport
FILE
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has confirmed that the government has cancelled the passport of former lawmaker Zaldy Co as authorities widen their crackdown on individuals linked to alleged multibillion-peso flood control anomalies.
The move is part of a broader effort to restrict the movements of personalities tagged in questionable infrastructure projects.
Marcos said he has instructed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to work closely with embassies overseas to ensure Co’s arrest.
He emphasized that the government is intensifying its pursuit:
“I have directed the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine National Police to coordinate with embassies abroad to make sure that the fugitive ex-lawmaker would be caught and deported from foreign land.”
Authorities have yet to disclose Co’s exact location, but officials say the passport cancellation significantly limits his ability to evade capture.
