House Approves P6.79 Trillion 2026 Budget On 2nd Reading

The House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, approved on second reading by substitution House Bill No. 4058, the FY 2026 General Appropriations Bill, totaling ₱6.793 trillion.
In sponsoring the amended version, Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Mikaela Angela Suansing assured that no amendments will be made after second reading. She highlighted that the Budget Amendments Review Sub-committee (BARSc) sessions, which deliberated on all proposed amendments, were open to the public and livestreamed on the House’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
Speaker Dy reiterated the House’s commitment to ensuring the timely passage of a transparent, clean, and people-focused budget. The chamber is set to approve the national spending plan on third and final reading on Monday, October 13, 2025.
