House Approves P6.79-Trillion National Budget For 2026

The House of Representatives has approved on its third and final reading the proposed ₱6.793-trillion national budget for 2026.
With an overwhelming 287 lawmakers voting in favor, 12 opposing, and 2 abstaining, the spending plan now moves a step closer to becoming law.
The 2026 General Appropriations Bill outlines the government’s spending priorities for the coming year, focusing on economic growth, infrastructure, and social welfare programs.
House leaders said the swift passage of the measure reflects their commitment to ensuring that public funds are used efficiently and that vital government programs continue without disruption.
The proposed budget will now be transmitted to the Senate for its own deliberations before it can be finalized and signed into law.
