ICC Bars Duterte Family From Sharing Detention Updates, Says VP Sara

Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has barred relatives of former president Rodrigo Duterte from disclosing details about what is happening inside the detention facility.
According to the Vice President, the ICC detention unit reminded them of a standing condition: family members are not allowed to share accounts of conversations or events that take place within the facility. For now, she said, the only information she can confirm is that her father remains alive.
The Duterte family is finalizing the list of members who will attend the confirmation of charges hearing on September 23. This hearing is part of the ICC proceedings against the former president.
VP Sara, however, faces a scheduling challenge. She is set to travel to Japan on September 20 for a Filipino community gathering in Tokyo, followed by another engagement in Nagoya on September 21. It remains unclear how these prior commitments will affect her ability to join the family delegation to The Hague.
