ICI Condemns Alleged Destruction Of DPWH Documents
FILE
MANILA — The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has strongly condemned reports that some Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel allegedly destroyed documents related to the investigation of anomalous flood control projects.
According to ICI Chairman Justice Andres B. Reyes Jr., these actions are a blatant obstruction of their ongoing investigation and a direct assault on the public's right to transparency and accountability. Reyes emphasized that tampering with or destroying public records is a grave offense that carries both administrative and criminal liability.
The ICI is calling on all DPWH officials and employees to cooperate fully and preserve the integrity of all documents and evidence in their possession. The commission stated it will closely monitor all steps to ensure that those found responsible are held accountable.
