MANILA, Philippines — King Charles III has expressed his deep sympathy to the Filipino people following the devastating series of typhoons, floods, and earthquakes that have struck the country in recent weeks.

In a heartfelt message, the British monarch said he and Queen Camilla were “deeply concerned by the news of the typhoons and floods that have affected the Philippines in recent weeks and are profoundly saddened to hear of further loss of life.”

King Charles also recognized the difficult situation faced by many communities, noting that “the suffering has been compounded by the devastating effects of two earthquakes in October.”

He extended his condolences to those who lost loved ones and paid tribute to the bravery of first responders who put their lives on the line to help others.

“I particularly want to convey our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to the families of all those who have lost their loved ones and to pay a special tribute to the emergency services who have suffered their own tragic losses as they have assisted in the rescue efforts,” the King said.

The monarch ended his message with words of compassion and solidarity, assuring Filipinos that their plight has not gone unnoticed.

“Our thoughts and continued prayers are with all who are enduring such appalling suffering at this time,” he said, signing the message simply as Charles R.

King Charles’ message adds to the growing wave of international support for the Philippines as the nation continues to recover from recent natural disasters.
