Lakas-CMD Urges NBI To Hunt Down Source Of 'Oplan Horus' Hoax, Files Complaint Over Forged Doc

The Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) isn’t letting a fake document slide without a fight. In a move that shows just how seriously they’re taking this, the party has officially asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to track down the people behind the now-viral hoax dubbed “Oplan Horus.”

In a letter dated April 23, 2025, Lakas-CMD Executive Director Anna Capella Velasco sounded the alarm to NBI Director Atty. Jaime B. Santiago, saying the document is not only fake—it’s malicious. She said it falsely ties House Majority Leader Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe to a supposed operation and even bears his forged signature.

“This is a clear case of identity fraud and cyber libel,” Velasco stated. “And it’s already caused real harm—not just to Rep. Dalipe’s office, but to the entire House of Representatives and our party.”

What’s got them even more concerned is that the bogus document wasn’t just shared online—it was also published in The Manila Times on the very same day as their letter. Since then, it’s made the rounds on social media, racking up shares and raising eyebrows just months ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.

Velasco made it clear: Rep. Dalipe had absolutely nothing to do with this so-called “Oplan Horus” and is denying any knowledge of it. Lakas-CMD is now pushing for a full-blown investigation—not just to find out who created the document, but also to uncover how it ended up in mainstream media and spread like wildfire online.

They’ve even asked the NBI to work with platforms like Meta to help trace the origin and the people behind the digital distribution of the fake material. And yes, they’re ready to hand over all their evidence—screenshots, sworn statements, digital copies, you name it.

For Lakas-CMD, this isn’t just about protecting one lawmaker’s reputation. It’s about defending the integrity of democratic institutions at a time when disinformation campaigns are running rampant. “This is a serious threat,” Velasco warned. “It’s meant to confuse, to mislead, and to destabilize.”

The ball is now in the NBI’s court. Lakas-CMD is hoping the perpetrators will soon be unmasked and held accountable.
