National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Larry Lacson has issued a strong warning to those who continue to engage in corrupt practices within the agency, declaring that the NFA is not a place for abuse of power or personal gain.
In a post on his official page, Lacson laid down the numbers as proof of his administration’s firm stance against irregularities. Since assuming leadership, the NFA has already implemented 25 preventive suspensions, filed 32 administrative cases, issued 54 show-cause orders, and currently has six pending investigations.
“These figures are only the beginning,” Lacson stressed. “Marami pang susunod hanggat hindi tumitigil ang mga tiwali.”
His message was clear: accountability will be pursued relentlessly, and no official or employee will be spared if found engaging in corruption. For Lacson, safeguarding the integrity of the NFA is not just an administrative duty but a responsibility to the public, particularly farmers and consumers who rely heavily on the agency’s role in the country’s food security.
The stern reminder underscores Lacson’s broader commitment to reform within the NFA—an institution that has long faced public scrutiny over allegations of mismanagement and corruption. By making these actions public, Lacson aims to send a message that the agency will not be a safe haven for the dishonest.
