Lawyer's License Permanently Revoked After Hitting Traffic Enforcer In Cavite

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the perpetual revocation of the driver’s license of a lawyer who ran over a traffic enforcer in Kawit, Cavite, permanently barring her from driving.
The decision follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to punish abusive drivers and strictly enforce accountability on the road.

“If you do not follow the law, the government and the LTO can revoke your license—either temporarily or, in the case of grave violations, forever,” Dizon said in a media briefing Tuesday.

“This driver was even boasting that she’s a lawyer. If you’re a lawyer, will you run over an enforcer? Fine, since you’re a lawyer, face the cases that will come your way,” he added.

Enforcer’s life at risk

Traffic enforcer Michael Trajico recounted that he was only doing his job when the lawyer suddenly ran over him. He said he was forced to cling to the hood of the moving vehicle for nearly 15 minutes, fearing for his life throughout the ordeal.

Legal aid and government backing

Dizon assured Trajico that the Department of Transportation would provide him with legal assistance to pursue charges against the lawyer.

“Michael, we are behind you. Don’t be afraid to file a case. Don’t be intimidated just because she’s a lawyer,” the transport chief said.

Naming abusive drivers

Dizon also revealed plans to make public the names of motorists with repeated or severe traffic violations, stressing that the government will not tolerate abusive behavior on the road and will protect enforcers carrying out their duties.
