Cashless payments have officially arrived in Libon, Albay, as the town joins over 700 local governments across the country in implementing the Paleng-QR PH Plus program.

Through this initiative, residents and visitors can now pay using QR Ph codes in public markets, local transport, and various business establishments — making transactions faster, safer, and more convenient.

“PALENG-QR PH PLUS-READY NA ANG LIBON, ALBAY!” the announcement proudly declared, marking another milestone in the town’s journey toward digital transformation and inclusive financial growth.

The Paleng-QR PH Plus program is part of the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion 2022–2028, spearheaded by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). It aims to promote digital finance and make financial services more accessible to all Filipinos — from market vendors and tricycle drivers to small business owners.

With this move, Libon joins the growing list of LGUs embracing cashless ecosystems, paving the way for a more modern, efficient, and connected local economy.
