Lifetime Ban: Drunk Driver Who Counterflowed On Skyway Loses License For Good

A Skyway motorist who recklessly drove against traffic while intoxicated will never get behind the wheel legally again. Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the perpetual revocation of Jake Nazareno’s driver’s license, effectively banning him from driving for life.
The decision follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to hold irresponsible and dangerous drivers fully accountable, in order to ensure the safety of all road users.
Secretary Dizon revealed that Nazareno personally appeared at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to explain the incident but was found to have been drunk when he was caught on video counterflowing on the Skyway—a move that nearly caused a serious accident.
“Hindi puwede ’to. Lasing ka na nga, tapos nag-counterflow ka pa sa Skyway, at muntik ka pang makapatay dahil sa ginawa mo,” Dizon stressed.
Apart from losing his license forever, Nazareno will face charges for violating the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act as well as for Reckless Driving.
Dizon urged the public to see this as a warning:
“Let this serve as an example to our motorists. The President, the government is serious about keeping people safe on the roads.”
With this decisive action, authorities hope to send a strong message—reckless driving is not just dangerous, it is unforgivable when it puts lives at risk.
