LOOK: Kanlaon Volcano Spews Ash Twice Today; Residents Told To Brace For More Ashfall

Kanlaon Volcano is making its presence felt today, April 14, 2025, with not one, but two ash emission events — all within just a few hours.
The first episode started late this morning at 11:52 AM, producing a thick ash plume that reached up to 800 meters high. It drifted toward the west-northwest, affecting areas like La Carlota City, Bago City, and nearby towns. That first emission wrapped up by 2:12 PM.
But just as things seemed to settle, another ash emission began at 2:53 PM — this time with a plume reaching about 600 meters high. Again, the ash is being carried west-northwest, so folks in the same areas should stay alert for possible ashfall.
As of writing, Alert Level 3 is still in place over Kanlaon Volcano, which means there’s still a possibility of more explosive activity. So if you’re in nearby areas, it’s best to stay indoors, wear masks if going outside, and keep those windows closed.
