Magnitude 5.1 Quake Jolts Davao Oriental - No Damage Reported

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Thursday afternoon, November 6, 2025, but authorities said no damage or aftershocks are expected.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the tremor occurred at 3:57 p.m., with its epicenter located 31 kilometers north, 69 degrees east of Manay, Davao Oriental.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 10 kilometers, PHIVOLCS reported.
While the tremor was felt in nearby areas, the agency clarified that there were no reports of structural damage, and that aftershocks are unlikely based on the initial assessment.
The incident serves as a reminder for residents in earthquake-prone regions to stay alert and prepared, even when quakes are considered minor.
