Residents of Davao Oriental felt the ground shake once again on Saturday evening after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck the town of Manay at 6:27 p.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake, which had a depth of 10 kilometers, came just a day after two stronger tremors rattled the same area—keeping locals on edge as aftershocks continue.
Phivolcs reported Intensity III shaking in Mati City and nearby areas including Sta. Maria (Davao Occidental), Nabunturan (Davao de Oro), and Malungon (Sarangani).
Milder tremors or Intensity II were also felt in Digos City (Davao del Sur), Alabel and Kiamba (Sarangani), Tupi (South Cotabato), and Palimbang (Sultan Kudarat).
Authorities have not reported any damage or casualties so far, but they continue to monitor the area for possible aftershocks.
