House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos released a statement addressing allegations made online by former congressman Zaldy Co, calling the circulating claims misleading and destabilizing.
In his written statement, Marcos said the public should be cautious about information posted by Co, whom he described as having no credibility. According to Marcos, the videos released by the former lawmaker contain fantastical accusations aimed at discrediting the current administration.
Marcos argued that Co’s statements were taken out of context and alleged that the former congressman is attempting to create political unrest to avoid personal legal issues. He further claimed that intelligence information suggested Co may have coordinated with individuals who could benefit from political instability.
The Majority Leader also clarified that Co’s removal as chair of the House Appropriations Committee was a collective decision made within Congress, not an act of political retaliation.
Marcos maintained that the narratives circulating online are part of an orchestrated campaign and urged the public to rely on verified information.
He ended his statement with the message:
“HINDI ITO REBELYASON, ITO AY DESTABILISASYON.”
