The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) closed lower on November 5, 2025, dipping 48.98 points or 0.83% to end at 5,818.06, as investors took profits amid cautious trading.
Market activity stayed light, with total trades reaching ₱4.7 billion. Decliners led the session at 137, while only 53 stocks advanced and 61 remained unchanged.
Despite the market’s pullback, foreign investors showed renewed interest — posting net foreign buying of ₱339.6 million, as total foreign buying reached ₱2.54 billion, outweighing ₱2.20 billion in foreign selling.
Among sectors, Mining & Oil took the hardest hit, sliding 3.62%, followed by Holding Firms and Property, which dropped 1.30% and 1.00%, respectively.
While the index cooled off for the day, the uptick in foreign inflows may hint at selective optimism — suggesting that bargain hunters are starting to see opportunities in the current market levels.
