Melanie Marquez Opens Up: Why She Asked Immigration To Cancel Her Husband's Visa

Beauty queen–actress Melanie Marquez made an emotional revelation during her guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda — sharing the difficult decision she made about her husband, Randy “Adam” Lawyer.
Melanie said she wrote to the Bureau of Immigration on November 11, 2025, asking that her husband’s visa be canceled and that he be placed on the blacklist, citing allegations of abuse.
According to Melanie, she tried for years to hold the marriage together.
She said she was determined to make it work, dreaming of a lasting family life. But along the way, she claimed she experienced verbal, emotional, financial, and mental abuse.
She recalled one incident from March 2022 that she also included in her letter to Immigration. Melanie said she was asleep beside her husband when she suddenly felt a punch to her right ear. At first, she thought it was part of a dream — until she woke up and saw him looking at her.
When she asked why he did it, Melanie said Adam told her he had been dreaming and wasn’t aware of what happened.
Shaken by the incident, Melanie went to the police and then to a hospital, where she said doctors found eardrum damage. She also went to the barangay to seek protection and have her husband asked to leave their home.
She shared that he was upset about it and refused to acknowledge accountability for his actions. Melanie also claimed that even before that, she had once been threatened at gunpoint over business issues.
Another incident, Melanie said, took place in October 2025, during an argument in which she alleged she was hurt again — this time resulting in a fractured rib.
Because of these experiences, she said she felt compelled to formally ask authorities to prevent her husband from returning to the Philippines.
“I don’t want him to come back here,” she told Boy Abunda.
Melanie and Adam married in June 2000 and have two children together: Adam born on 2001 and Abraham born on 2003.
She also has four other children: Miguelito with Lito Lapid, Mazen with an Arab businessman, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee and Maxene Xuxa with Derek Dee.
