Meralco Foundation Backs AFP Reservists And Veterans With Tech Support

The One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the social development arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, has extended a helping hand to those who have long safeguarded the nation—the reservists and veterans of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
In partnership with Meralco Networks and the Information Communication Technology and Transformation (ICTT) offices, OMF recently turned over computer sets to two key AFP units: the Pension and Gratuity Management Center and the AFP Reserve Command.
Commodore Luidegar Casis, Chief of the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center, warmly welcomed the donation, noting how it will boost their ability to serve retired soldiers who dedicated their lives to the country’s security.
“These desktop units will help enhance our productivity and improve the delivery of services to our pensioners and their beneficiaries,” Casis shared.
Colonel Jose Tadeo Javier II, Deputy Commander of the AFP Reserve Command, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the role of ICT tools in strengthening their operations and communications.
“Without a doubt, these donations will serve as an outstanding example of what public and private partnership can achieve when the private sector collaborates with the military in a very meaningful and strategic way. This will become a constant reminder that security, development, and progress are shared responsibilities,” Javier said.
For Meralco, this effort is more than just providing equipment—it’s a show of gratitude to the men and women who continue to uphold peace and order. Meralco Networks Head Froilan Savet said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the AFP.
OMF President Jeffrey Tarayao further underscored this mission:
“This initiative is our way of expressing our thanks to our military reservists and veterans who show selfless dedication to serve our country. We are very proud to support them as they continue to protect the Filipino people.”
