Get ready, volleyball fans—things are about to heat up in the Premier Volleyball League. Three-time UAAP MVP Mhicaela Belen is making headlines once again as she leads a stacked lineup of 60 applicants for the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.

Yes, you read that right—sixty aspiring pros are about to battle it out for their shot at turning dreams into digs and spikes on the PVL stage. Before the draft proper kicks off on June 8 at Novotel Manila, Araneta City, all eyes will be on the PVL Draft Combine, happening May 30–31 at Paco Arena in Manila. Think of it as a volleyball version of a talent showcase—intense drills, scrimmages, and lots of eyes watching every move.

Belen won’t be alone in this journey. She’ll be joined by her fellow National University Lady Bulldogs Erin Pangilinan and Sheena Toring, as well as a full roster of familiar names from the UAAP and NCAA.

From the UAAP, big names like Alleiah Malaluan of La Salle, Ateneo’s Lyann De Guzman, and Adamson’s May Ann Nuique have thrown their hats in the ring. And let’s not forget about UST, FEU, UP, and UE—all sending in standouts, proving just how deep the talent pool really is this year.

Representing the NCAA is no less impressive. Leading the charge is Mycah Go, the Season 97 MVP from the College of Saint Benilde, along with contenders from schools like Arellano, Letran, San Beda, Lyceum, and more.

There’s also international flair in the mix. Two Filipino-American setters—Alohi Robins-Hardy (at 6-foot-1, she’s the tallest in the pool) and Tia Andaya—are expected to turn heads. Not to be outdone, five Filipino-Canadians are joining the fun, hailing from universities across Canada.

The age range is just as diverse. Angela Jackson, a former UPIS standout, is the youngest at just 20 (turning 21 in June), while Rose Joy Pinuela of Olivarez College brings a veteran presence at 40 years old.

As for the teams? Capital1 will get first dibs as they hold the No. 1 overall pick. They’ll be followed by Galeries Tower, Farm Fresh, and NXLED rounding out the top four. After that, it’s a who’s-who of PVL clubs: Zus Coffee, Cignal, Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Akari, Petro Gazz, and Creamline.

Of course, the final list of draftees is still provisional—some names might shift depending on paperwork and qualifying results. But one thing’s for sure: with a pool this deep, this year’s rookie draft is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.

So mark your calendars, volleyball fans. The next wave of PVL stars is about to take the stage.
