MANILA — The Philippine Stock Exchange showed a mixed performance on January 13, 2026, as gains in the mining and oil sector helped offset declines in other industries.

The PSEi closed at 6,413.45 points, down 6.51 points or 0.10%, while the All Shares Index slipped 3.92 points (-0.11%). Key sectors such as Industrial (-0.37%) and Holding Firms (-0.29%) recorded losses, and the Financials sector edged lower by 0.09%.

However, Property (+0.16%) and Services (+0.26%) bucked the trend with modest gains, and Mining & Oil soared by 415.69 points, up 2.43%, emerging as the market’s standout performer for the day.

Analysts say the strong showing in mining and oil reflects continued investor confidence in resource-based industries, even as broader market indices remained slightly down.

Investors are keeping a close eye on sectoral movements, noting that gains in specific industries like mining can help cushion overall market volatility.
