Mysterious Orange Device Pulled From The Sea Off Pangasinan Sparks Investigation

The quiet fishing waters off Bolinao, Pangasinan turned into the scene of an unusual find earlier this week when local fishermen recovered what is believed to be an underwater drone.
On August 6, 2025, while fishing roughly 149 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao, the crew spotted a bright orange object adrift at sea. Curious and cautious, they brought it aboard their vessel and later described it as resembling a sophisticated underwater device.
Upon returning to shore, the fishermen immediately reported their discovery to the Philippine Coast Guard’s Substation in Infanta, Pangasinan. They also signed a notarized affidavit to formally detail the circumstances of the find.
The suspected underwater drone, according to initial measurements, is about 160 centimeters long, 20 inches wide, and weighs close to 100 kilograms. Its exact purpose and origin remain unclear.
The device has since been turned over to the relevant authorities for closer examination. While the Coast Guard has yet to release any official conclusions, the recovery has raised questions about what such technology was doing in Philippine waters and who it might belong to.
