National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Police Major General Anthony Aberin stressed that cases will be filed against the group behind the recent mud-throwing and vandalism incident outside St. Gerrard Construction in Pasig City, a firm owned by the Discaya family.
According to Aberin, authorities have already identified the protesters and their leaders. Coordination is now ongoing between the Pasig City Police, the Eastern Police District, and the Discaya family to determine the appropriate charges.
“Our investigators are studying the possible cases that may be filed. At this point, we see malicious mischief and vandalism as among the charges, but this will still depend on the results of the investigation,” Aberin explained.
The police official also assured that the NCRPO is fully prepared to address similar incidents, emphasizing that security plans and deployments are already in place. He urged the public not to be swayed by groups encouraging disruptive actions during protests.
“We remind our fellow citizens to remain calm and not be provoked. The PNP, especially the NCRPO, will not simply stand by if laws are violated in our presence. Those caught will be arrested and detained,” Aberin warned, adding that maximum tolerance will still be observed in handling demonstrations.
