No Power Worries This Holy Week: Meralco Promises Stable Electricity And Tips For A Safe Break
FILE
As Filipinos prepare for a reflective and restful Holy Week, Meralco is making sure the lights stay on—literally.

In a recent statement, Meralco, led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, assured the public that its teams are ready to provide reliable, stable, and uninterrupted electricity service throughout the Holy Week break. And yes, that includes 24/7 support in case anything goes wrong.

“We join the nation in observing a solemn and safe Holy Week. As a 24/7 service provider, we assure our customers that our crews are fully prepared to respond to any power-related concerns that may arise,” said Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications.

Since Holy Week lands in the middle of the dry season, Meralco also reminded everyone to stay safe and smart with electricity use—especially for those going on vacation or heading home to the provinces.

Here are a few quick tips they shared:
• Unplug appliances before leaving the house for a long time.
• Avoid “octopus connections”—plugging multiple devices into one extension cord can overheat and cause accidents.
• Don’t run electrical cords under rugs or carpets (they can get damaged and become fire hazards).
• Keep cords organized and out of the way to avoid trips or damage.
• And of course, keep all devices away from water—no charging phones near the tub, please!

If you’re wondering how much energy your gadgets and appliances actually use, you can check out Meralco’s Appliance Calculator in the My Meralco app—a handy tool especially if you’re trying to save on your next electricity bill.

Just a heads-up: all Meralco Business Centers will be closed from April 17 (Maundy Thursday) to April 20 (Easter Sunday). But don’t worry, you can still reach them online:
