The Office of the Ombudsman is considering livestreaming its preliminary investigation into alleged anomalies in a flood control project, a move officials say is aimed at increasing transparency.
In addition, the Ombudsman plans to publicly release the decision on the 2016 dismissal order against Senator Joel Villanueva, which was issued by former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
“The public has the right to see how these investigations are conducted,” the Ombudsman said, underscoring the push for greater transparency in high-profile cases involving government officials.
Officials confirmed that details on the livestream schedule and access will be announced once finalized, signaling a new approach to keeping the public informed on ongoing probes.
