As heavy rains continue to drench Metro Manila because of the southwest monsoon or Habagat, at least 192 Quezon City residents have taken temporary shelter at the Barangay Balingasa Evacuation Center. The relentless weather has prompted the local government to maintain full alert status, with teams from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), the Social Services Development Department (SSDD), the QC Health Department (QCHD), and barangay personnel closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of displaced families.

Residents are reminded to stay vigilant and report any emergencies through the QC Helpline 122, as intermittent rains continue to raise concerns across the metro.

In the city of Manila, persistent rainfall has led to varying levels of flooding in major roads. Streets such as Quirino-Taft are experiencing gutter-deep floods, while Nakpil-Taft has reported water levels reaching up to a foot. Meanwhile, Pedro Gil-Taft and the intersection of Taft Avenue and Ayala Boulevard are seeing floods between 6 to 10 inches deep, disrupting vehicular and pedestrian movement.
Further south in Las Piñas, the situation has intensified. The Las Piñas River Drive in Barangay Pulanglupa Dos was rendered impassable earlier this morning after the river overflowed, submerging the entire roadway. Authorities have yet to confirm when the waters are expected to recede.

With no sign of the rains letting up, local government units across affected areas continue patrolling streets, inspecting flood-prone zones, and reinforcing emergency protocols to minimize risks and respond promptly to potential hazards.
