OVP Says No Explanation Given For Col. Lachica's Relief

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed that Col. Raymund Dante Lachica, commander of the AFP Security and Protection Group formerly the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group, has been relieved of his duties as of October 6, 2025. The OVP says it received no message or explanation regarding the order.
In a statement, the office expressed its deep appreciation for Col. Lachica’s work:
"The OVP expresses its sincere gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by Col. Lachica to our institution. We have accomplished more than our targets because of his support to the vision of a life of peace and comfort for all Filipinos. We salute his resoluteness, professionalism, and integrity. Thank you."
Col. Lachica’s dedication and support have played a key role in helping the OVP pursue its goals, the statement added.
