In a show of unity against illegal drugs, Acting PNP Chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez joined forces with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday, October 9, to destroy a staggering P16 billion worth of seized narcotics.

The destruction, held at the Integrated Waste Management Inc. facility in Trece Martires City, sent a clear message that the government remains relentless in its “Bagong Pilipinas” drive for a safer, drug-free nation.

The piles of illegal drugs — including methamphetamine (shabu), marijuana, cocaine, ketamine, and other substances — were all seized from different anti-drug operations across the country.

“This destruction symbolizes not just our success in operations, but also our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust,” Nartatez said, emphasizing the PNP’s full support for PDEA’s anti-drug campaign.

The event highlights the continued partnership between the PNP, PDEA, and other agencies in dismantling drug networks and ensuring that confiscated substances are permanently removed from circulation.

With billions worth of drugs turned to ashes, the government reaffirmed its message: the war against illegal drugs continues — this time with stronger coordination and integrity.
