BATAAN — In a decisive strike against illegal drugs, the Bataan Police Provincial Office (PPO) has recovered an estimated ₱802.4 million worth of suspected shabu along the shoreline of Barangay Sisiman, Mariveles, on August 14, 2025.
Acting swiftly on a tip from a concerned citizen, personnel from the Mariveles Municipal Police Station, together with the Bataan Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 3, and the Bataan Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, immediately proceeded to the reported site near the local lighthouse. There, they discovered six large sacks containing 118 packs of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 118 kilograms.
The inventory was conducted on-site in the presence of media representatives, barangay officials, and a Department of Justice representative to ensure transparency. The seized contraband was later turned over to the Bataan Forensic Unit for examination and proper disposition.
PCOL Marites A. Salvadora, Bataan PPO Provincial Director, oversaw the coordinated operation. Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, PBGEN Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., praised both the swift response of the operating units and the community’s vigilance.
“This significant recovery is a testament to what can be achieved when the community and law enforcement work hand-in-hand. We commend the concerned citizen who came forward and our operating units for their swift and coordinated action. Every kilo of drugs we take off the streets is a step closer to safeguarding our communities and securing a better future for our nation,” Peñones said.
Authorities emphasized that the successful operation highlights the critical role of public cooperation in combating the drug menace, reinforcing that strong community-police partnerships are essential to ensuring public safety and protecting future generations.
