PBBM, Cabinet, Open To Lifestyle Check And SALN Disclosure

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and all members of the executive branch are ready to undergo a lifestyle check, Malacañang Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said.
The statement came after several lawmakers called for closer scrutiny of government officials’ wealth, particularly in light of controversies surrounding flood control projects.
“All members of the executive are ready for a lifestyle check—including the President,” Castro said in an interview.
When asked about the possible public disclosure of Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), Castro clarified that this is part of the process. “The SALN is included. Once a lifestyle check is conducted—whether the President comes first or last—he will be part of it,” she explained.
Still, the Palace official stressed that the focus should remain on holding accountable those involved in questionable projects, rather than veering off into political distractions.
For now, Malacañang seeks to show that the President and his Cabinet are open to transparency measures, including lifestyle checks and, if necessary, the release of their SALNs.
