It was a dramatic midnight takedown in Binangonan, Rizal, as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) scored big in the fight against illegal drugs. A buy-bust operation on March 19 led to the seizure of a staggering ₱272 million worth of shabu—about 40 kilograms of the illegal substance—right in the heart of Rizal Cement Village, Barangay Pantok.

The suspect, known only as alias “Ronald,” was caught red-handed by a joint team of PDEA operatives and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PNP-PDEU). The authorities confiscated 40 black gold foil packs filled with white crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez called the operation a major victory, saying, “A bust of this magnitude deals a huge blow to the illegal drug supply chain. And trust me, there’s more to come.”

Ronald is now facing serious charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically for the sale and possession of illegal drugs.

With this successful operation, PDEA proves once again that they’re keeping a close watch—and making sure illegal drug activities don’t go unchecked.
