Filipino boxing sensation Pedro “Kid Heneral” Taduran successfully defended his IBF World Minimumweight title against compatriot Christian “Punchtian” Balunan in a thrilling 12-round bout at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila, on October 26, 2025.

Taduran, a southpaw from Parañaque, showcased his experience and tactical prowess, earning unanimous decision victories from all three judges with scores of 118–110, 118–110, and 117–111. The win improved his professional record to 19–4–1, with 13 knockouts.

Balunan, an undefeated challenger from Cebu, entered the ring with a 12–0 record but struggled against Taduran’s relentless pressure. An accidental headbutt in the fourth round opened a cut on Balunan’s face, adding to his challenges throughout the fight.

This victory marks Taduran’s second successful defense of the IBF minimumweight title since regaining it in July 2024.

Looking ahead, Taduran’s camp has expressed interest in pursuing future high-profile matchups, including a potential unification bout with undefeated Puerto Rican champion Oscar Collazo, who holds the WBA and WBO minimumweight titles, though no official arrangements have been confirmed.

Fans can expect Taduran to continue proving why he is one of the top names in the minimumweight division, with the prospect of exciting matchups ahead in his career.
